Surely ... there must be something better,
Better than mortality and life-expectancies and funeral rites ...

There must be better feelings,
Better than hatred, than envy, than selfishness ...
Souls purer and hearts more honest ...

There must be better ambitions ...
Better than fancy clothes and big cars and mansions for homes ...
Aspirations beyond multi-figure bank accounts and Presidential honors ...

Something better ..

There must be better goals for our children ...
Better than straight As, white-collar jobs and bourgeoisie neighborhoods ...

There must be .. better identities for our daughters ...
Better than scanty dressing, foreign hair and reddened lips ...

There must be greater manhood for our sons ...
Better than narcotic ‘highs‘ and inebriation-induced confidence ...
Better than the ‘victory‘ of wife-battering and trophy of owning the biggest harem ...

There must be something better;
Better than lying awake in bed ... sleepless and dead-worried about what tomorrow will bring ...
What 2013 has in store ...

There must be better human character ...
Better than the dishonesty, immorality and debauchery we have come to settle for as society ...

There must be better jobs ...
Better ways of making ends meet ...
Better than prostitution, drug dealing and soldiering ...

There must be better enterprises ...
Better forms of investment ...
Better than bomber assembly lines, cigarette-manufacturing plants or breweries ...
